A Second Thought…What a Title !!
Reflecting on surat “Sad”, Allah (SWT) talked about many prophets and he addressed 2 of them with a very special “title”. People generally spend their life and money to gain different titles like “his honour”, “Dr.”, “Lord”…..but these 2 prophets had a very special title…the title is “Ni’ma Al-Abd” (how excellent in Our service). Yes indeed this is the best title you can ever have or dream of.
But who are these 2 prophets? They are prophet Soliman and prophet Ayoub (pbut)….why specifically these 2 prophets?
What does prophet Soliman resemble? Power, Wealth, Authority……in general all what the word “bounty” or “Nima” can include. What does prophet Ayoub resemble? Sickness, Loss of money, Loss of kids……in general all what the word “tribulation” or “Ibtilaa” can include. Thus one can say that ture “slavery” to Allah is not related to easiness or hardship, but actually true “slavery to Allah (SWT) is having your heart undisturbed with either and only focused with one thing: Allah (SWT) and his pleasure……and both of these prophets succeeded in that and thus they were granted this title…..and what a title.

Mashallah, what a wonderful reflection and response to the trials, tribulations and criticisms that we are living with today. Many people believe that to be a ‘true slave’ to Allah, we must give up and dissociate ourselves with this worldly life but it is our heart that we need to ensure do not get influenced with the love for worldly goods and not our hands. So our only chance at trying to obtain this title is by holding the dunya by our hands and not within our hearts.
